Bennie Jefferies is one of those men who has been ‘there and done that.’ He’s a World War II veteran who served as a tail gunner aboard a B-17. When he returned to the ‘states’ from the war, he was a changed man. To this day, he is haunted by his memories. He says, he is no hero. Most think he is. Bennie served and made a difference, but at a great cost to his personal life. Produced by Larry Hatteberg for Hatteberg’s People, broadcast on KAKE-TV.
