“Doc'” and FIFI were seen and heard flying in the air together at the 2017 EAA AirVenture airshow in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. The only two “flying” B-29 Superfortresse’s in the world to be fully restored to flying status. “Doc” was made in Wichita, KS. at Boeing Airplane Company. Unique to “Doc,” was one of the ‘Rosie the Riveter’s,” Connie Palacioz, who actually riveted the nose of “Doc” back in the 1940s and was involved in the restoration process and present at all of “Doc’s” flights back into the skies over Kansas once again. She was also thrilled to be present at Oshkosh to witness the dual flight of both B-29s.
