McConnell Air Force Base had the B-1 Bomber stationed on the Air Force Base a few years ago. Now McConnell serves as a refueling base for aircraft worldwide. The B-1 is now stationed at various other U.S. air bases with a new mission. That mission is know as “ship killer,” due to its new Long-Range Anti-Ship Missile transforming the “Bone” into a powerful naval strike platform capable of taking on the most heavily defended enemy task forces. The B-1 still has the ability to carry-out nuclear missions for which it was originally designed.
