B-1B Pilots and Crew Members gear up, perform pre-flight checks with various footage of the cockpit and instrument panels. Taxi and takeoff is then from Dyess AFB in Texas. As Editor of Wings Over Kansas, I had a similar experience in “The Bone” with the 184th Bomb Wing, K.A.N.G., at McConnell AFB, Wichita, Kansas in 2000. The B-1B was there from 1994-2001.
