With an acceptance letter from the Ronald Reagan Presidential Library in hand, a group of Kansas Aviation Enthusiast’s have assembled an organization, Air Force One Simulator Kansas Project, to get the historical 707 simulator from Augusta, Kansas to Simi Valley, California.
With the Augusta Air Museum being the host organization, the Air Force One Kansas Project will be restoring the 707 simulator at their facility where it will be on display as it is being restored.
The 707 Simulator Boeing 707 flight simulator serial number 0001 entered service for Seattle Boeing Company in 1967. In 1982 the simulator was transferred to Wichita Boeing until the end of the 707 program, then subsequently surplused out in 1989. The simulator was recovered resting in a surplus yard some 10 years later in Wichita, Kansas. Air Force One Simulator Project has many ties to Kansas and will be the perfect enhancement gift from Kansas to Ronald Reagan Presidential Air Force One Pavilion.
