Remembering the sacrifices of those who have defended us, honoring the courage of those who defend us today, held June 5th and 6th at Newton City/County Airport in Newton, Kansas.

The Wings of Remembrance Airshow is the result of a group of individuals coming together to sponsor an aviation event dedicated to remembering the sacrifices of those men and women who have defended this country as well as honoring the courage and commitment of those who defend us today.

The initial Wings of Remembrance event will be in the fly-in format with plans for ground display of various invited military and civilian warbird aircraft and no airshow flying. Planned activities will provide an educational and fun filled time intended for persons and families of all ages.

In addition to the static aircraft display, events include a Friday night steak dinner, warbird rides, Young Eagle Flights, ceremonies marking the 60th Anniversary of the D-Day Invasion and the 60th Anniversary of the Newton Airport’s service to our Nation. On Saturday night, a WWII hanger dance (costumes encouraged), a balloon glow and WWLL era movies.

Future Wings of Remembrance’s will continue to honor those that have served as well as those that currently serve as well as being a method to raise funds to help provide assistance for the dependents of current military personnel. It is planned that future Wings of Remembrance Airshows will develop into a regionally recognized event.
