The Kansas Aviation Museum is set to host its annual Spring Break Aviation Camp starting Monday, March 19 and running through Wednesday March 21, 2012 from 9am-5pm. The camp is intended to offer a fun and interactive environment within which students from first through fifth grades can learn about the science and history of aviation.
Participants will have the opportunity to:
- Sit in the cockpit of an actual 727 airliner
- Board a KC-135 refueling tanker
- Fly over one hundred different planes on the KAM flight simulator
- Slide in the seat of an F-16 cockpit simulator and have a real time dogfight with their fellow campers
- Design an airport
- Learn about navigation
- Build and fly a model airplane
- Visit the tallest spot in the Wichita area (the historic terminal control tower)
and much, much more. Cost for the camp is $125 per participant which includes all activities and afternoon snack. A sack lunch must be provided by the camper each day.
